Simona Corda moved to Denmark from Rumania in 2000. She took part as a Mentee in the first NytNetværk Sønderborg programme (2005 - 2006) and has since been part of the Project Management. ”I can say with confidence that I learned a lot about the Danish work culture and mentality through my participation as a Mentee in NytNetværk Sønderborg. Simona continues; “My Mentor has become a friend for life and we have always found time to meet to discuss how I have been progressing in my job.” After having completed the NytNetværk Sønderborg programme, Simona got a job at EUC Syd and has since moved to a position as Head of Department. ”It has been pivotal for me to have met my Mentor, who could ask me all the right questions, so I could get my priorities right. My Mentor has contributed towards my self development, enabling me to focus on my career goals. As an added bonus, she was a great asset in guiding me to make use of the network I was exposed to through NytNetværk Sønderborg. For the second consecutive year, Ole Malmgren is the Project Leader of the programme. Ole has formerly also been a nytNetværk Sønderborg Mentor. ”I had great satisfaction in helping my Mentee to navigate her way through the Danish system. The joy and appreciation I have been met with, motivates me and encourages me to make a high priority of this project in my leisure time”, says Ole. “At Project Management level, it is so rewarding that anyone we approach – e.g. politicians, businesses, religious groups, libraries and other charity organisations, all back our project. This reaffirms that there is a need for a project like NytNetværk Sønderborg – and that there are many people who happily would like to contribute towards “new” Danes getting a fair chance in our country”. Ole has lived in Sønderborg for 6 years – ever since joining Danfoss A/S, where he holds a position as an Account Sales Manager. Lene Bader
Meeting Mgr. | November 2010 - May 2011
Lene Bader is the Meeting Manager of the 2010 – 2011 programme and has formerly held a role as a NytNetværk Sønderborg Mentor. As part of the project management group, Lene has also played a very important and active role to develop the programme. The past NytNetværk Sønderborg programmes have been characterised by a high degree of enthusiasm and diversity and thus inspired Lene to devote her spare time hereto. “It is a project which appeals to me! Therefore, I look forward to taking part in the forthcoming programme as the Meeting Manager. I hope to contribute by making a difference for the Mentors and Mentees who take part in the NytNetværk Sønderborg programme” says Lene. Lene herself has experienced at first hand the challenges one faces moving to another country, as she has lived in England for 1½ years, followed by 8 years in Belgium. Lene expects to make use of some of her learnings, and to be able to offer advice and support to Mentees who have moved to Denmark. Lene has lived in Sønderborg for 6 years – ever she was employed with Danfoss A/S. Today, Lene holds a position as an IT Purchasing Manager with this global company.
